The Art of Fitted Upholstery

A luxurious choice

Fitted upholstery has been an integral part of luxurious living for centuries. From the palaces of kings and queens to the mansions of the elite, fitted upholstery has always been a hallmark of sophistication and elegance. Today, it continues to be a popular choice among our private clients who wish to create comfortable and relaxed spaces without sacrificing style.

As architects and interior designs we think beyond the parameters of typical upholstery applications and often work with clients to craft furniture as interior architecture to help define a space.

We design and manufacture a range of bespoke pieces in our English workshops, from luxury banquette seating, to upholstered headboards, integrated benches and fabric panelling.

Each item starts life on the drawing board, once the proportions of a piece and key dimensions have been agreed by clients we present fabric samples and material choices for discussion. Once selected we proceed to drafting manufacturing drawings detailing key client requirements such as seat depth or upholstery filling specification.

The base is usually manufactured in solid timber and any strappings, springs or fillings are then applied and tested before the piece is wrapped in fabric and hand stitched.
