Paradise Found
Contemporary Bajan Bathroom Design
The island of Barbados is renowned for its white-sand beaches and bay blue seas, with a vibrance of character and a relaxed take on life.
Our latest project on the island reflects the vernacular of its surroundings, whilst raising the bar of the interior design to that of the very best in Barbados. The south-facing Principal Bathrooms has a close connection with the landscaped gardens and is protected from the high midday sun by an overhanging roof structure, but the selected white stone treatments of the walls and floors retain a general brightness and fresh feeling to the space.
Finishes have been carefully considered to offer added depth, with leathered stone finishes applied to walls and fluted, textured walls to the rear of the shower and vanity cabinet elevations.
The highlight of these spaces is the striking feature stone, designed to create a monolithic statement to both the vanity cabinet and bath arrangements.
A recurring feature of the project is the texture and patterns seen in the caustic refractions of light from water. In this space these inspirations manifests in the ripple texture of the upper portion of the timber face of the vanity cabinet.
Stunningly beautiful, elegantly functional and copiously generous in proportion. These bathrooms bring a little bit of paradise from the outside in.
