Ultra-creative design is at the centre of everything we do.
From initial spatial layouts and aesthetic concept to detailing specialist architectural features, partnering clients’ tastes and desires with exacting form and function, lies at the core of every one of our projects.
Upon completion of a clear brief we move to the second phase of our process; concept and design. Drawing on experience from across a number of creative disciplines our team integrates their design skill and manufacturing knowledge to develop intelligent interior spaces that not only delight and surprise but also are practical, purposeful and function seamlessly.
The design phase consists of two components; concept and development.
At the conceptual stage, the lead designer will create a spatial plan, maximising dynamic use of existing space and creating new areas as dictated by the brief. The function of each room, zone or level is considered in direct relation to the client’s lifestyle, and layouts are then drawn.
This stage is often carried out in close liaison with architects for new build projects, but is also of high value with existing buildings, especially where there is scope to maximise subterranean square footage.
Once spatial planning has ensured a flowing continuity from one room to the next, the design team begin developing an aesthetic theme to shape the interior and finishings. 3D hand-drawings are drafted and regular focused meetings with the client ensure the evolution of each space embodies their tastes and desires.
Moodboards may be created first, followed by more detailed boards including materials, finishes and fabrics. At this stage, we often create photo-realistic CGIs to give clients an accurate sense of the completed design proposals.
With concepts approved other members of the team provide key support at the design development stage. Working closely with the lead designer, sketches and reference for key elements such as joinery and special architectural features are created. Details are worked up and the specification of all core components, from lighting to brassware, sanitaryware and joinery is undertaken.
Sourcing rare and exceptional pieces and materials from around the world, our specifiers work with a close network of specialist manufacturers, detailing all necessary features and tech-specs in the production of master schedules for the entire project. A design intent drawing package is also produced, providing contractors with all required information and, where applicable, working drawings are created for bespoke specialist joinery and cabinetry.
